Julie Robard-Gendre started her musical studies at the Conservatory in Nantes where she obtained her diplomas in saxophone, recorder, chamber music, music theory, and writing.
She entered the Paris Conservatory (CNSM) as a writing major, allowing her to pursue courses in Renaissance Polyphony, Harmony, XX century writing, analysis, and orchestration. Along with studying writing, she debuted as a singer and was admitted in 2003 to the CNSM of Paris in Mireille Alcantara’s class and perfected her skill under Yvonne Minton and Janine Reiss.
After having obtained the price at the CNSM of Paris, she started singing in numerous French stages including: Le Prince charmant in Cendrillon at the Opera of Massy, Tisbe (La Cenerentola) at the operas in Vichy, Reims, and Avignon, Marcelline (L’Attaque du Moulin) at the Metz Opera and that of Bern, Mercedes (Carmen) at the Operas in Avignon, and Massy, Siebel (Faust) at the Grand-Théâtre of Tours, a page (Rigoletto) at the Orange chorégies, Meg Page (Falstaff) at the Opera of Metz and finally as Myrtale (Thaïs) at the Opera of Avignon.Her contemporary repertoire includes collaborating with numerous composers like Michaël Levinas who entrusted her with the role of la Huppe (La Conférence des oiseaux) at the Biennale of Venice and Les Aragon, which she sang with the Ensemble L’Itinéraire at the Philharmonic of Luxembourg. With L’ARCAL, she participated in the creation of Ni l’un ni l’autre with the composers of the multilateral ensemble and sang in the role of Maria Smith in les quatres jumelles of Régis Campo with the TM+ ensemble.
These last couple years have been marked by her most important roles: La Périchole at the Metz Opera, Carmen at the Opera in Reims, Orphée (Orphée et Eurydice) in Emmanuelle Bastet’s production at the Angers-Nantes Opera, she was also Belle-Hélène at the Opera of Rennes (production by Vincent Tavernier). She has also made her debut at the Aix-en-Provence festival in the role of Ramiro (La Finta giardiniera/Mozart).
Last season, she sang the role of Kuchtik (Rusalka) at the Opera of Monte-Carlo, Ramiro (La Finta giardiniera) at the Opera of Rouen.
She sings Hermia in les Caprices de Marianne (H. Sauguet) produced by the CFPL, on tour for two years in numerous Opera houses (Massy, Marseille, Rennes, Toulouse, Saint-Etienne, Bordeaux, Nice…). She also sang the title role of La Belle-Hélène at the Avignon and the Vichy Opera. She took part in a rediscovery by the Company Les Frivolités Parisiennes of Fromenthal Halevy’s Guitarrero in which she interpreted the role of Zarah (production by Vincent Tavernier), and she sang the part of Prince Raphaël in La Princesse de Trébizonde by Offenbach at the Opéra de Limoges, the part of Olga in Eugene Onegin in Nice. She sang in Amelia al ballo in Metz, Carmen (title role) at the Opéra de Rennes, Der Zwerg at the Opéra de Lille, Gluck's Orphée et Eurydice (Orphée) in Avignon…
Her future projects include Nabucco in Nice and Toulon, Der Zwerg at the Opéra de Rennes and in Caen, Eugene Onegin (Olga) in Metz and in Reims, Die Zauberflöte and Les Huguenots at the Paris National Opera, Cendrillon (Le Prince Charmant) in Nantes and Angers, Hamlet (Gertrude) at the Opéra de Nantes, Rennes and Angers, La Belle Hélène (title-role) in Lausanne, Falstaff(Meg Page) in Lille, Luxembourg and Caen, Beethoven Symphony No. 9 with the Orchestre national de Lorraine…
